Breads

There are five thieves, each loot a bakery one after the other such that the first one takes 1/2 of the total no. of the breads plus 1/2 of a bread. Similarly 2nd, 3rd,4thand 5fth also did the same. After the fifth one no. of breads remained are 3. Initially how many breads were there?

ans : 31

    initially the total no of breads were 127 first one takes 63.5+.5 remaining 63 2nd takes 31.5+.5 remaining 31 3rd takes 15.5+.5 remaining 15 4th takes 7.5+.5 remaining 7 & 5th takes 3.5+.5 and left are 3.

    The answer is really 127. The answer provided is incorrect. I had given a detailed answer, somehow it was deleted, I don't know how. But the answer is really 127.
