Answer ::Steps to perform
steps | 4 gallons(P) | 9 gallons(Q) |
initialiy | 0 | 0 |
fill the 9 gallon bucket | 0 | 9 |
pour 4 gallons from Q to P | 4 | 5 |
Empty bucket P | 0 | 5 |
pour 4 gallons from Q to P | 4 | 1 |
empty bucket p | 0 | 1 |
pour 1 gallon from Q yo P | 1 | 0 |
fill the bucket 9 gallon bucket | 1 | 9 |
pour 3 gallons of water from Q to P | 4 | 6 |
1. fill 9 gallon bucket
2. take out 4 gallon out of it twice, (left with 1 gallon in it)
3. pour that 1 gallon to 4 gallon bucket.
4. fill 9 gallon bucket again and pour from it to fill 4 gallon bucket; 3 gallon get transfered and we remain with 6 gallons in it.
