Pages

How many pages are there in a book, if there are a total of 100 digits used to number its pages?

Ans: There are a total of 100 digits. Therefore the number of pages is less than 100.now there are only 9 single digit numbers (of course excluding 0).Thus as long as the number of the last page is less than 100.the total will always be an odd number (remember 9).Thus the above question is not possible.

    50
The only way that only (exactly) 100 digits are used in numbering its pages is that all the page numbers are expressed in two digits as for example '03' for page number three. Otherwise, there can be ninety-nine digits or hundred and one digit used but not exactly hundred. (There are a total of nine single digit numbers excluding zero).
Hence, my answer would be 50.

    Hi Cephalic
As soon as I saw this puzzle I also got same thought that level of puzzles are coming down drastically. Earlier I used to visit this blog regularly but now-a-days just once a week.
And according to me one of the worst puzzles is the 'Hiccups' one.
